Quarry Hunters HFT club was established in 2002 and is set in and around an old limestone quarry located on the beautiful Welsh mountainside of Mynyddislwyn. We are known for our challenging HFT courses and infamous, unpredictable wind - as the well known saying goes “If you can shoot in the wind at Quarry you can shoot anywhere!”
We have two covered 55 yard zero ranges and a different 20 or 30 shot HFT course is set out nearly every Sunday. We welcome everyone to come and have a go at HFT and all of our experienced shooters are more than willing to help and offer advice.
You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome at Quarry so come and have a shoot and see if HFT is for you - be warned though, it is very addictive!
We have a wide range of members, from serious HFT competition shooters, to those just starting out and those who want to improve their shooting skills.
Whether you are an experienced competition shooter or you have never fired a gun before and you want to give HFT shooting a try, Quarry Hunters HFT Club is the place for you. All we ask is that you have a genuine interest in HFT shooting and behave responsibly.
All you need to know
Do you want to try HFT?
Visit Quarry Hunters
We really would like to meet you - come along and have a go at the great sport of HFT!
We recommend that you do not visit our range without first contacting our club Chairman, as you may accidentally place yourself in danger or be at risk of trespass.
Visitors are always welcome but if you are interested in visiting or joining the club please contact Pete Sparkes prior to your first visit. Safety is our number one priority and on your first visit you will be given a safety briefing by one of our Safety Officers before being allowed to shoot.
When is a good time to come?
Club Opening Times

If you are interested in giving HFT a go come along to Quarry Hunters for a taste of HFT at it’s best. Contact Pete Sparkes below for details.
All members are reminded that the gate to the club must be closed after you enter and leave at all times.
Take care along the narrow lanes
Directions to the Club
The nearest post code is NP11 7BA but take care using this because GPS can take you on some interesting routes (for major HFT events we will post signs along this route to help you get to us).
We recommend that you approach Quarry Hunters HFT Club from the north from the roundabout on the A472. This is by far the easiest route to us.

Our number one priority
Safety with any type of firearm is the responsibility of everyone participating in shooting. The club safety rules MUST be observed at all times whilst on the club premises. The two most fundamental rules are:
✔ Always treat your gun as loaded
✘ Never point a gun at anyone
The majority of the other rules arise from the application of these two rules in different circumstances.
For everyone's benefit
At Quarry Hunters HFT Club our rules, based on common sense, are there to protect all members and visitors. If any of the rules are broken more than once the offender will be asked to leave.
